This morning around 6:30 am, Dave Martin arrived in Nairobi. He's the first of the Iowa team to arrive. Since he joined the team late, we couldn't get a ticket for him with the rest of the team, but it's been a blessing, actually. Dave's a construction guy, so he's helping with the construction of my hut. After getting breakfast in Nairobi, Vincent (our driver friend) took us to a part of town where we could buy stuff we still needed for the construction project, such as screws. It's hard to get screws in Eldoret. Fortunately, Dave brought lots of screws, so we ended up not having to buy those. We did, however, buy a kitchen sink. I had called Tobias (the construction guy in Eldoret) to check if it'd be better to buy one in Nairobi, and since it's half the price that it costs there, it was an obvious YES.
Walked around Nairobi with Dave, showing him the city. It's fun for me to realize how I'm getting to know the city by now.
